"The dentist is never a favorite I look forward to going to, esp for a root canal, but given the circumstances, they made the experience as pleasant as possible. I particularly appreciated that he didn't make me keep one of those insanely uncomfortable ginormous bite blocks in my mouth that are so large they gag you. They did use a tool to prop my mouth open but it was small and didn't gag me like the others. I'd def use them if another root canal is in my future."

I had a little trouble after the procedure and they helped me immediately. Every one I have encountered in their office has been kind and helpful. He explained the process clearly, answered my questions, and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. The actual treatment was quick and, best of all, completely painless—I kept waiting for the “scary part,” and it never came.If you’ve been dreading a root canal, stop worrying and call Dr. Carroll. He somehow manages to turn one of dentistry’s most feared procedures into something closer to a nap (minus the snoring). "Dr. Carroll tried to save my molar via root canal but my tooth was too severely cracked. He had to extract it unfortunately. He is and still will always be the best dentist 💕 I was completely terrified and he gave me enough injections to put a horse to sleep but I was too scared and it was too painful so he had to give me gas. "Dr. Carroll performed my first root canal this week. I was expecting the worst. Wrong. Can you have a good experience with a root canal? I can say it was not bad at all. Zero pain with the three deadening shots. Zero pain during the procedure. He said I would have pain when the deadening medicine wore off. He was mistaken. Zero pain! Definitely recommend!"
"Awesome experience with Lee Van. Been bumped from multiple appointments from another oral surgeon around the corner. I desperately needed to have a 25-year-old root canal tooth extracted. Literally rotting in my head and couldn’t seem to get any traction with another local oral surgeon. One quick call to lee Van Carol and was immediately sitting in front of him, checking out the situation and he agreed it needed to come out ASAP. The next thing you know it was done and all over with. The best part was one pain pill after the removal because I was nervous. Woke up the next morning with zero pain. Lee Van will be my guy from now on."
"Dr. Carroll and his staff are professional, knowledgeable, caring, and sympathetic, to say the least. Getting a root canal or dental implants are not at the top of my desired activities but have been necessary for me after a long history of dental issues since childhood. Going to the dentist makes me anxious and truthfully terrifies me. Every time I’ve walked into Dr. Carroll’s office, I’ve been greeted with a smile and treated as if they were working on their own family. I’ve had tears wiped during procedures, a simple touch on the arm acknowledging my uneasiness, and a listening ear with answers regarding my treatment plan. "Dr Lee Carroll spent quite a bit of time with me trying to figure out which tooth was hurting. He’s done several root canal’s on my teeth through the years. He’s very knowledgeable at giving medication to deaden the nerves. He gives the medication time to deaden the nerves. The actual procedure doesn’t take long. It depends on the number of roots the tooth has, of course. If you have to have a root canal done, he’s a good one to do it. I like the staff, they’re very knowledgeable, with state of the art equipment. The waiting room is cold, so if you’re cold blooded wear a jacket. While you’re waiting for the doctor in an exam room, you can use the restroom. When you get old and long of tooth, both root canals and restrooms are necessary. I wish they could restore my youth, but they can help me weather old age."

I really liked Dr. Carroll and how he explained what he would be doing then showing me what he had done on an X-ray. "I got my one and only root canal (so far) here last week. Of course, I was terrified, but, just wanted to get it over with. The Endodontist (Dr Carroll) was so friendly and professional. You can tell he is a “people” person. He talks to his patients like they’re old friends and before you know it, your procedure is over and you’re walking out the door! The whole staff there is super friendly and helpful. I recommend this office 100%"
"Great experience. From walking in the front door to Dr. Carroll doing an anterior root canal on my lower front tooth #26, it was evident that this office spends time on building a workplace where those who work there truly get along and enjoy working with each other. The same with Dr. Carroll and his interaction with me and the staff. And he was smooth. After a little bit of numbing gel, he said he was going to shake my cheek and he administered the deep shot and it was like a regular walk in the park. The whole procedure went the same. I am apprehensive about root canals, even cleanings, and ask any dental hygenist and they’ll tell you I have a small mouth. Thanks for putting me at ease."
"What an amazing dentist. Everything from start to finish. No pain, and everything explain in detail. Very caring about comfort.PRAISE THE LORD, I had a root canal this morning!What!!!!!! If you have ever had a root canal you must be asking yourself. Praise the Lord! Has he lost his mind? If you have never had a root canal then you are probably also asking yourself. Praise the Lord! Has he lost his mind?Well after months of having discomfort from one of my teeth I made an appointment and was able to see my endodontist, Doctor Lee Carroll, this morning (1/30/24). After evaluating my tooth he stated that instead of performing a root canal he might have to extract my tooth. So in addition to the extraction he would then have to implant a new molar/tooth in it’s place. He just could not be sure until after he was able to see how damaged the tooth was. So while sitting along in the chair while giving the initial numbing agent time to work the prayer that I asked in Jesus’ name was that Dr. Carroll would be able to complete the root canal.That prayer was answered in the very most positive way possible. Once Doctor Carroll was able to get to the “root of the problem” - yep, pun intended – he was able to complete the root canal therapy. So while my jaw is sore right now, and I will still have to have a permanent crown placed on the tooth in a few weeks I am doing quite well. So one more time Praise the Lord, I had a root canal this morning!"

"Dr Lee V. Carroll seems like such a down to earth Guy and does great work. I have never had a root canal done where I didn't feel actual pain. Not with Dr Carroll, there was the normal discomfort from numbing shots(even that was done gently). After that there wasn't any actual pain and he let me know each time pressure was needed. Staff was also very polite and kind. (This it not a fake review, I am from out of state and I don't normally write reviews, however I have dental anxiety and I hate being in pain during procedures or Dentist with no empathy--- so I wanted to share my good experience here)"

Dr. Carroll was very patient and took the time needed to ensure the whole proceedure was painless. When I arrived at the office there was a lot of anxiety on my part anticipating what I believed would be a very painful day and expecting that pain to continue for a number of days following my visit. I am confident my very unexpected positive experience was due to the care and patience he had instead of rushing me in and out as quickly as possible to move on to the next patient.Dothan is fortunate to have such an exceptional professional."
